I'm looks at purchasing a Fiat Panda Pop (2014). I will have passengers the majority of the time in the rear seats so for safety rear head restraints are a must. On the car I'm looking at they are not included, can they be fitted or can I buy them and fit them myself?

I don't think they can be retrofitted due to the way they connect to the rear seat backrest. I think for safety reasons it'd be advisable to not even attempt it? Unless you could get a feel for how they fit together from one that has it?

Here are some diagrams that might help...

Are the holes there to receive the head restraints (in the top of the back seat)?

My 4x4 TA came without the restraints (I suspect swipe by the dealer for another vehicle) I didn't notice or realise that they were not there and perhaps should have been.

Anyways I ordered some from a dealer - not cheap. Not sure if they are available from the shop on this site?

I think I'd have a more than stern word with the dealer - they've sold you a car that's not to spec from a safety angle and should have supplied the restraints.

With hindsight I agree; but I'd bought the car @ 3 years old in the N. West at a significant discount compared to the metropolitan south where I live and wasn't ready to engage from afar.

All said and done, still loving the occasional chance I get to drive it...

I'm sure you've got up to six months to reject the vehicle too, and if you could get another Fiat garage or specialist to just confirm to you in writing (or Fiat UK via email?) that the car spec includes the head restraints then you'll have an easy time saying "I ordered this, didn't get this, therefore I reject the car".

They then have an opportunity to try and 'put things right', by refunding you the money you spent ordering it yourself if I read that right, and perhaps a good will gift. So that you don't have to hand the car back at their loss, which I believe you could do if you really wanted to push it.

I can't imagine how I'd feel if I spent money on a top of the line brand new car only for the dealer to screw around with the parts...
