In June we are expecting a new member in our family and i have a serious problem with baby car seat. My first plan since our Panda 4x4 2017 is our only car, was the baby seat be placed behind drivers seat, in order that we have left 2 fully factional passanger seats. However the whole project tends to be a nightmare. I tried to random car seats(i could say above average size), 1 isofix and 1 not. Both of them in order to fit in any passanger seat, needed the front seat FULL FRONT. If placed behind drivers seat, its not possible for driver to enter the car. If placed behind passanger seat, only person bellow 155cm fits. Any ideas?

Does your car have the picnic table option for the passenger seat (plastic back)? That eats into a lot of the space, and is difficult to remove (but possible) to gain some space back. Another option is to disable the passenger airbag and mount the child seat in the front passenger seat. The last (and probably most expensive) option I can think of is to see if you can find one of those ultraslim baby seats made of kevlar/carbon fiber, which are usually less bulky than regular baby seats.

Also, last idea but it's something I see people forgetting all the time... After you mount the isofix base to the mounting points, the child seat should be able to slide (and lock) closer to the seat, which takes up less space. Maybe this is model specific, but a lot of the seats I have seen you put everything in, and then push the seat back and the base remains closer to the mounts than before, giving you more space and firmly resting the child seat on the regular seat.

Here's a site with photos that I found, which I google translated into English and basically they're saying putting the child seat in the back eats into front passenger legroom, but having it in the front also seems to be an option.

Yesterday i tested at list 10 babyseat facing backward. I noticed that in the category 0-13kgr most seats have similar dimensions and the only thing that matter is how tall at the spot thats gets closer to the front passanger seat. So since front passanger seat has a certain angle, i notided that isofix base raises the inserted baby car seat and "hits" easier the front seat. My final decision is http://www.maxi-cosi.com/car-seats/cabriofix.aspx without isofix base. It has a good balance of quality, price and low angle, in worder to touch the front seat lower.

Also something to consider: Fiat sells their own child seats in the Panda accessory catalogue, and I think they're manufactured by Chicco which is pretty decent. They also have parts listed as 'platform for child seat' in both front and rear facing part numbers. Perhaps these would provide a low enough platform to fit any isofix seat without pushing the back of the passenger seat, or maybe their own seats are better fits (though looking at them in the brochure, I doubt that).

A bit slow with posting this but thought worth mentioning. I've a new born and we have a babyzen car seat with isofix base. Today I finally managed to try out our car seat/base combo in the panda. I have a folding passenger seat with the plastic picnic table on the reverse (which just eats up space). I also have the sliding rear seat. With the rear seats set to the smallest boot size I can fit in the seat and base and leave the front seat sufficient space to comfortable seat me (I'm only 5'7) or my partner who is almost 6'. I know this doesn't help anyone without the sliding seat but it thought it worth posting this option for some people.
