I would only buy a Panda 4x4 for the 4WD, but not for the offroad abilities.
So, i would lowered it to a asphalt hugger. :D

BTW, i hope the 2018 Panda 4x4 will get the 1332cc GSE Firefly 102 hp engine.

Yes, but this is a FIAT forum! :p

Off the top of my head though, Daihatsu Mira Avanzato or Sirion Rally4 ... I'm sure there are plenty of other JDM AWD pocket rockets out there!

Haha point well made! :)
My point was that the car they wish the Panda to be isn't in line with what the Panda is and has been. Small (ish), light cheap and economical.
It already has the most powerfull engine compared to the competition here in europe.
If you want 135bhp and 4x4 with more comfort the cars that come close and can be bought over here are the Opel Mokka, the Suzuki SX4 and the new Vitara and maybe the Panda 500x and Jeep Renegade.
All much bigger and more expensive and not realy comparable to the Panda.

135bhp would be fun in a Panda, but i think with that new 1332cc GSE-Firefly engine it will be fun enough as well. ;)

Still have plans to restart the 1.2 Rotrex development for the 1242cc FIRE engine.
The most important parts are already developed and in my possession. ;)
Only the car specific Plumbing has to be developed, airbox to supercharger, supercharger to intercooler, and intercooler to throttle body.
And then the integration of a Diverter valve and Boost Limiter Valve.

Sadly this will not be possible on a Panda 4x4, because they are not available with the 1.2ltr FIRE engine.

I too would like a permanent 4 wheel drive lowered but 130bhp panda with suitably improved seating and suspension. I think it would be rather good, but I am to much of a stick in the mud to alter mine from standard.

If the Panda get the 999cc 3 cylinder GSE-Firefly turbo engine, 135 hp would no longer be a utopia.
A lot of 3 cilinder 999cc turbo 3 cylinder engines are able to deliver ± 140 hp after a remap.
Even the 875cc, 105 hp TwinAir turbo get 124 hp after a remap.

H&R have 50mm lowering springs for the 4x4:

H&R Federn auch für Fiat Panda III 4x4 Typ 312, 4WD

[ Art-Nr.: 28842-1 ]
Tieferlegungsfedern 50 mm

Pandas on the top! Pandas are best! These other things are fine, but just not the ticket for me. I loved the 100HP and would kill for something similar with the additional benefit of 4wd when needed. It does need to be a Panda though...
