What are you using for headlight bulbs to match new led DRLs? The fitted OEM are way too yellowish to look good with leds.

I'm not sure yet. Certainly from fitting the leds today, the headlights look yellow. I'm not going to fit HID lamps, as I don't want to be illegally using them without washers and self-levelling. We do training for the emergency services, and I don't think that the Police Collision Investigation teams will be impressed if my car is illegal! :) so I guess probably osram nightbreakers plus?

Today's task has been to remove the wheels, clean thoroughly, dry, then coat with Armor All Wheel Shield, inside and out. It's supposed to create a barrier on the surface of the wheel, which stops dirt and brake dust from being able to stick. The videos online look pretty impressive, so watch this space and I'll report back. The thing which prompted this is that I washed the car and alloys on Monday, and by this morning the front pair in particular were quite dirty with brake dust. Previously I've used autoglym alloy wheel seal, but it hasn't seemed to work very well. So hopefully this new stuff will be better.

This shows the stuff in action.

I've also coated the whole car with Armor All Ultimate Shield. It goes on very easily, and so far the water is beading very impressively. The shine isn't as deep as a good wax, but at this time of year it's ideal because you don't have to wait for it to haze before buffing, so it's very fast.

Philips Xtreme Vision are great bulbs but far away from a good colour match to LED drls. Nightbreaker plus are better match but I am tempted to order Mtec super white from hids-direct.

yes, I was thinking the same having fitted my new led daytime running light bulbs....... assume this is the right ones: http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/genuine-osram-h4-12v-55w-night-breaker-plus-90-64193nbp-twin-pack/

Thanks for all the useful info. and links, chaps :)

I've just ordered sets of Nightbreaker Plus and DRL LEDs from hids-direct,
and am also trying a set of the Xtec LED festoon bulbs for the interior:

I don't want to get carried away and replace everything, but I need brighter
headlights (had bi-xenons on my Alfa Mito :D ) and I really don't like the
standard non-turn-offable DRLs, so have to fix those too!

Can you let me know what the night breaker's look like compared to the OEM bulbs?

The night breakers seem like the best choice from reviews I've read, but I want to know if they are still yellow compared to the LEDs.

Thanks in advance.

Well, they are better than the original bulbs for certain but they are still slightly yellow compared with the new led drl's.....v bright tho!

11 days since I washed the car, and used ArmorAll Ultimate Shield on the paintwork. Still beading very nicely, and the car still looks clean (which was a concern with a white car which isn't garaged at home). It certainly seems to be doing what it claims. It's also a week since I treated the wheels with ArmorAll Wheel Shield, and they also appear to be spotless. Very happy!
