I got these on eBay this week for Splutter. Original Fiat items, brand new and still in the packaging dating from 1988.

I want to fit them, but I don't want to reuse the broken restraint strap on the current drivers side mudflap. The passengers one will be replaced as well. As you can see from the photo below it has snapped and is held by a cable tie. I dropped into my local motor factors today and they had nothing suitable, they also couldn't advise where I might find a little strap like this. Any ideas? I'd like to get hold of a new one ideally.

Steve, the mudguards you have there are for the front...

the rear ones have got bars that secure onto the horizontal weld

DIY or building supplies may have something suitable.

They use something that looks like that to strap blocks together after cementing

Will try and find a pic because I know what I mean if nobody else does

Those gold bits if i've got it right should be verticle with a screw behind them to secure to the rear bumper, there should then be a flat piece of metal going from the bottom gold bit continuing round the bottom & secured to the flap by two rivets. If it has that steve there is no need to secure them with anything other than what is available already.

OK, conflicting info here guys. :)

They match in size and shape to the rear mudflaps that are on. The current rears have no bar to secure anywhere, the little strap in the photo is held in place by a screw through the mudflap itself. I'll try fitting them tomorrow and see if they are for the front or rear.

I will go to the cellar and get the visual information to distinguish the two types.

last timei tried fitting the rear ones i was seeing red after about 30mins... it's a quick job with 2 people i expect.

That sounds spot on Alan. They won't rub the tyres then?

LOL, mind you I expect the high sppeds attained by the Cinq helped, the Pandas sedate approach might work better! BTW, just got outbid on a cinq steering wheel... I hate ebay!

those leather sporting ones are always in demand.

my rear mud flaps are stuck on ! haha
and i have broken both my front ones off roading.
i dont really get on with them, i find they get in the way whilst off road.

but for a 2wd on the road, id deff have em !
