Hiya All

My Panda is sick and the garage says I need a new SPI unit as my current one is all bend and twisted due to old age. Apparently it's a main dealer part and costs £244 + vat and labour on top.

I was wondering whether I would be able to get one second hand. Can anybody point me in the right direction. I have no idea. As you can guess I am a woman.

My car is a L reg Panda Fire.

Thanks.

I thought the SPI system was by Bosch... Welcome to the forums and good luck, there must be a cheaper solution somehow. I have no idea if the fuel injection parts are the same on the 999cc engine compares to other sizes...

You need it I got 95% of just about everything for them pands the only thing that got me by the Bxxx's is the trekking(n) but if found a nice Fiat garage in germany who is very willing to help me:worship: so all is not lost still a great car roof rack fitted Tuesday. Next job  is having some D shaped towing eyes welded to a base plate that will fix over the bullbar mountings at the front of the car that should make good towing point's(y)

I have a car the same age and there is nothing wrong with it or the SPI head.

Whats to bend or twist in an SPI head anyway?

Recommend you obtain second opinion.
Rgds.

That's a very good point. Does sound like a non-specific, 'we can be bothered to work out what's wrong' kind of diagnosis.

I agree with you what can you bend on the unit:bang: the only thing possible is the mounting for the air filter cos I carn't be bothered the find a 10mm ring or open end also what are the RAC and AA good for exept to piggy back you to a garage so they can say got you going but not under your own steam

Hello Urchin.
That would not surprise me at all.
Best regards.
