The last remaining item required for my Sisley to go for its MOT is the column light switch (the welding now having been completed). My Sisley has got the extra spot lights at the front, which are/were operated by moving the dip lever down (I think, from memory, it's so long ago now!). Can I replace this with a standard Panda column switch? I haven't taken it apart so I don't kow what goes on there. In fact, I'm not really even sure what are Mk1 and Mk2 Pandas. I presume Mk1 is pre-Fire but I need to be reassured. reason is that there is a Mk1 switch on Ebay but I'm not sure whether it's any good to me, since my Sisley has a 999cc FIRE engine.
Hoping for lots of feedback!

We have two sets of spots connected to the main switch on each car and they've never queried them at an MOT station.

After a long absence, this problem is still with me. The car has been sitting in a garage since June. My friendly neighbourhood garage mechanic finally applied himself to it and discovered that the light switch is wrong. The newer one has 2 connectors hanging off it with 16 leads altogether. The older one had 3 connectors with 18 leads in all (poss. 2 extra for the spots). The newer connectors are of a different design to the older ones so absolutely no possibilty of adapting it. I'm happy to swop the brand new light switch for the correct light switch if anyone has one or, at the very least, can anyone confirm that a light switch for a 1987 Panda Sisley should have 3 connectors and either 16 or 18 leads.

SOmething Neil had said to me when i saw him is that if i had a 4x4 that the highbeam would be put through relay as factory fitting... unlike the 2wd models... which from my experience aren't made that way.

perhaps the connectors are from a 4x4 column design... not the early model vs later model.

This is becoming pressing now. Been to Desira to find that the part is not obtainable any more and they were not able to locate one (don't know how hard they tried). Does anyone here have this part and would be willing to part with it? I have a recent new column switch to exchange if interested.
