Mentioned a while ago that I had some Rover seats I was planning to pillage to beef up the front seats in Grumbleweed. Well after several weeks of holidays and generally doing other stuff I've finally decided I wanted to get them in for Gaydon on Sunday so have attacked them with a fit of enthusiasm today:

base on, cunning use of exhaust clamp to support side bolsters

big fat bolster cushions up the sides

finished article. will get some shots of it in the car tomorrow hopefully.
Passenger seats old and new are now also stripped back to frames ready to do the same again tomorrow.

OK they're in. Teensy issue with selecting reverse due to the big seat base but it does go in, 2nd wierdly not a problem. Mega comfy though:

just need to cover up the holes where the lumbar adjust was on the Rover seats, gaffer tape doesn't want to stick:(

Nice work Andrew (y). Looks like a great way of upgrading the seats. But don't you miss all that GREEN!!! :D.

Had to pull out of Gaydon a few days ago as other commitments have cropped up, pitty, would have liked to see them in the flesh :(.

not a patch on all that Alfa leather you've put in. Would have preferred to keep the green really but we're neither of us as young as we used to be and bless the green drivers seat is getting somewhat frayed and saggy. Ideally I'm hoping to let in big green panels in the centres of the new seats but no idea if or when I might get round to it.
