Technical Head question

The cylinder head from my old 1000 CL is a 156A2.000 with a CR of 9.8, while the head on my 1000 CLX is a 156A2.246 with a CR of 9.0. I've tried numerous scrap yards and forum members and have had no luck finding a similar head. Would someone please confirm which other FIAT models use the same head so I can widen my search. Thank you

Later Unos may use the same head, although I'm not sure.

Does anyone have the following parts available for sale? (see diagram)
I'm only after the parts numbered from 1-7, thank you.

Update: All I need now are parts 1, 5, 6, 7.

The important part is number one (crankshaft pulley bolt) which is stopping me from getting the car back on the road. I'd like to get the lower cam belt cover and retaining bolts as soon as possible so the belt is properly protected, however this won't stop me from driving the vehicle.

Over the past two weeks I've tried three Fiat dealers, five scrap yards and numerous motor factors without success. Fiat can back order the bolt but I have to buy five which I feel is ridiculous, so I'm hoping someone on the forum has one knocking around.

Thanks

oh not the old 'only come in 5s' classic. They told me that when I went to order 2 nuts for the rear shocks. So told them OK just order me a pack and lo and behold a week later one sodding nut turned up:bang:

The dealer wants payment up front so I'm sure I'll end up with five bolts.

If nothing turns up very soon the car will probably have to be scrapped which is a real shame.

Please don't get your hopes up, but I just might have a number one!

Will look tomorrow. Will be from a scrapped 750L FIRE if I do.

What is the approximate size

I know I took alot of the timing pully bits off (just undone everything that looked like it was reuseable) and put them all together in a container in the parts store.

Jon.

I've already got a spare bolt from a 1000 CL and it's totally different from the one I need, so I'm positive your one won't fit either. The bolt I need is larger, I'll get the dimensions and post them here tomorrow. It's very likely that an early Cinq or Punto crankshaft pulley bolt will be the same as the one I need but I'm not entirely sure.

Thank you to everyone who's trying to help out, it's greatly appreciated.

Scrap your car rather than buy 5 bolts!!! Don't do it, I'd rather buy them for you.

If all else fails someone on the forums can have the Panda. If no one wants the car then I'll have to scrap it, hopefully it won't come to that.

As you can see most of the work has been done, once I receive the bolt I'll fit the timing belt, ignition system and cam cover etc...

What's the best RTV sealant to use on the sump, should I use the Fiat product or is there a better aftermarket sealant you would recommend for the job? Thank you

It turned out that the wrong bolt had been fitted which is why I had so much grief getting it off in the first place. The fact that it had been welded to the three pulley bolts certainly didn't help matters.

If everything goes to plan I should have the car back on the road tomorrow.

A BIG thanks to mustard for sorting me out with the bolt.

Hello mate

Most if not all car shops will sell you decent RTV sealant, i bought some from a car shop nothing special and it sealed my sump perfectly, so you don't need to go to fiats to buy it, just as long as the lip on the sump is clean and straight you be ok. if you want to know the make i bought let me know and i PM you.

i thought you had a OHV engine? yours is a OHC. anyway lets hope you get your motor up and running, good luck .

Mustard

The sump's been sorted, I ended up using some VW RTV sealant that my friend had.

My engine is basically a smaller version of yours and yes it's an OHC one.

Thanks mate, fingers crossed.
