General How do I get my vehicle authenticated?

I am currently trying to register a fiat panda inported from france that has been in the country for quite some time but never registered. I was going to use it for parts for my 4x4 but it is almost perfect and all original with low miles so can't bring myself to do it. It's a 1992 and LHD I have got as far as contacting hmrc and declaring it in the country after which no tax was due and have filled in the v55/5 to the best of my ability (missing quite alot of information) however it also needs a proof of vehicle authenticity sent with it. What is the best way of getting this (preferably the cheapest) so I can fix it up and service it the little it needs before selling it? Thanks for reading.

To add to this absolutely no paperwork came with it other than the original french plates.
