Hi Forumites, can anyone help or advise? My oil pump is knackered and my mechanic has been unable to get hold of a new one for me . I have a 1989 panda bella, any suggestions on how to get my beloved car back on the road?? thanks :)

Is it not the case that the Bella's have the 903 engine?

If so, Fiat themselves or any competent ( if there is such a thing ) motor factor should be able to provide a pump.

Perhaps a change of mechanic is in order.
Rgds.

yes it is a 903 engine , my mechanic has tried his local 2 fiat places that he always uses and both have come back to him saying they cannot get this part . Could a second hand one be used ? The trouble is , I am only able to go by what people tell me, I think sometimes they can't be bothered with the hassle ! :(

Fiat have the part on the shelf. Delivery time to dealer 3 working days.
Rgds.

Re: oil pump dilemma update

Hi all , just to let everyone know that after 3 weeks I managed to obtain a brand new oil pump from a Fiat dealer in Hounslow . The cost was £94 inc.vat and the cost for the filter, oil change and gasket including mechanics labour was £80 ,although the pump was a little more than I thought,at least the greenbomber is back on the road again! Once again, thanks for your replies and help again :D
