good evening newbie here and hopefully find out how to sort mrs car cheaply she has a fiat 500 2012 plate her heating has given up she is getting no hot air or cold air but sometimes when she goes around a corner or over a bump it comes on for 15 mins then goes off again ive tried google you tube but not car orientated but willing to give it a go with any answer I hopefully receive on here.

Ok.. sounds like the electrical supply to the fan is patchy

Does the car have twisty knobs for the heat..or all digital?

Does the speed of fan make any difference?

hi vareseycrazy thanks for your reply her car is old school with twist knobs and the fan when on is fast then slows down and cuts out she had her car in the garage a few month ago having a strut repaired since then its went pete tong could this be part of the problem maybe a loose wire somewhere near the mechanics work repair

On any Panda with a heating issue ALWAYS check the coolant level. Low coolant will have it blowing cold air shortly before the cylinder head gasket fails. Yours sounds like the fan nut it only takes a moment to check

If the fan works on full speed the problem will be the speed resistor.


On RHD cars, you have to remove the steering column to get at the **** thing. I spent an hour struggling with my wife's car and gave up. It's a big job that needs a heck of a lot of stuff removing to replace a cheap £12 part.
