Well done. I hope everyone on here will start giving it back to them - politely of course - and then the very poor quality misleading information might be improved. Clearly there is something going wrong in the UK as the Italians couldn't be nicer and I don't believe there is any intention to mislead. Why Fiat UK are so poor is a mystery. I would write to customer services as well and ask for a gesture of goodwill...

I have already tried the advertising standards agency but what a bunch of wofflers they are!

I am waiting to see if my new Panda is 5 or 4 seats. Its unclear... as ever.

Once I have said car in hand I am going to write in detail to Fiat pointing out 4 seats means its a four seater and that leather only comes from cows, and that floor mats means floor mats and correcting all the other blunders in their brochure and advertising.

Surely an accurate brochure and an up to date web site are basics for any manufacturer selling retail???? The abject failure of Fiat UK to deliver such basics says volumes about them and their attitude to business. Fiat Italy should wake up to this. The products are good and if they cant expand sales and provide the impetus for new products something is very severely wrong with their setup in my opinion.
Leather can easily come from oil givwn how most is PU leather rather then proper cow leather
Don't think fiat even sell anything with true leather now do they?

To be fair the stuff they call 'Eco leather' is pretty good even though it is really 'Pleather'. :)

Fiat make no claim to have leather on the seats. They call that 'eco leather', and a web search will show that this is generally 'leather dust' in a plastic material. There is no mention of leather on the seats (eco or otherwise) in the price list specs.

They do claim to use leather on the gear knob (but not gaiter) and the steering wheel, and I think this is indeed real leather on my 4x4.

I believe you have ordered a Waze 4x4? In that case, the seat covers are 100% cloth with no side panels of eco leather, and there is no height adjustment for the driver's seat. (as shown on both the website and in the price list). The Waze 4x4 has a plastic steering wheel and gear knob.

That same price list shows clearly that only the 'real' Cross 4x4 and the 'City Cross' (2WD) have 3 seat belts and three headrests, and a split/fold rear seat as standard. By implication the Waze models (and other Pandas too) only have two rear seat belts and two rear headrests as standard, and a one-piece rear seat backrest.

There is no mention of any form of mats being included as standard in the UK price list for any of the PAnda variants.

Personally, I'd say Fiat have been pretty clear in their claims.. you can see these here https://www.fiat.co.uk/content/dam/fiat/uk/business/Fiat_Price_List_April2019.pdf (page 55 - also in screenshot below) . I also feel they (like most other car makes) have been equally clear on their website and brochures that the actual specification of cars sold in the UK may differ from those illustrated as there are different specs across different markets. Fiat are not alone in this regard.

I thought the 4x4 and the cross came with M+S or winter tyres? The brochure you've linked to shows summer tyres! We're hopefully collecting a cross in a few days so it'll be interesting to see what it comes with

With respect I have to point out that no company, including Fiat, can sell anything by "implication".
All Fiat UK advertising for the Fiat Panda 4x4 clearly states "The most compact 5 seat off-roader" - there is no mention that as standard it is only a 4 seater and to be a LEGAL five seater a fifth seat belt has to be purchased as an added extra ..... indeed the 'compilator' state "5 seats no extra", it is only when you look in the 'safety section extras' that you find out that the 5th belt (making the car a legal 5 seater) costs £100 extra.

By doing this I do not think that "Fiat have been pretty clear in their claims", something that Fiat Italy agrees with but on which Fiat UK will not (or as yet has not) comment on.

Yes, I do agree that their claims about 5 seats are misleading. However, they will claim that, when spec'd as a five seater, they are correct in saying it is the smallest 5 seat 4x4 car on the market. They don't say all of them are 5 seats and I don't read it as '5 seats included free on all models'. Subtle I know, and could be misleading to those who don't read the full details. But I suspect their lawyers could argue that they are correct in their claims.

Yes, I saw that... Technically the Cross never has had 'winter tyres'. Up until now, the Cross has had 'all season' road tyres, but the 'regular' 4x4 has true winter tyres (and they are off-road biased too.) But that is a very recent change, and I hope that yours arrives with the all-season ones.

I wonder if, in a further bid to reduce emissions under the WLTP programme, 'summer' tyres are now being fitted as standard. (Fiat must be gutted that their award-winning eco engine only got 37mpg in the new, tougher tests. It also has much higher carbon emissions - even the ancient 1,2 does better!) If you look, many of the photos on the specifier no longer show the tyre tread (it used to be quite clear). However, if that were the case, I would expect to see winter or all-season tyres as an option. For some set-ups of the Cross, there is an option to spec 'summer tyres' as a lower CO2 emission choice. (There are some almost comical errors in the specifier, offering paddle gear changes on at least one model!)

If you press the '5 seat option' button on the configurator, you'll see a box pop up saying this will automatically add the 3rd seat belt at £100 more. Similarly, if you add 'winter pack', it tells you it will add the £60 higher centre console too.

Not as gutted as I was when expecting to get 49mpg - the claimed urban figure from my new Panda! Its the only car I have ever owned that has failed to do this. Even the VW groups stuff did and exceeded the claimed MPG.

I think 37 is now a true reflection of what can be expected and I hope to be able to better it considerably in real world sensible driving.

The Car industry has been found out. I am sure they are no worse than any other industry though.

ANyway whatever I have the new Panda arriving next week and I have everything crossed that it turns up with 'leather' wheel and gear knob, electric mirrors, CBC, climate and height adjustable drivers seat. The latter is not negotiable so Please let them have fitted it as asked.

In spite of irritation that the info is not kept up to date and brochures are unavailabe and a non working configurator I think I know what I am getting. Dealres blurb states the waze 4x4 is 5 seater. We shall see.

Let's hope so.
What must be a bit more gutting is that you could now have ordered a full-on Cross, with all those 'extras' as standard plus climate control, full 5 seats, split fold rear, all the shiny 'Cross' bits and more... for about the same money I suspect? (see post 'Real 4x4 Cross for price of 2WD')

The Panda Nut the only thing that really drives me mad with Panda is 5 seats not being standard. New cars, insurer has to put on system manually. They want to know how many seats it has. First new Panda I had I claimed 4 seats as didn't know either way.

Seems Fiat have fixed their website, as this link now does take you to the Waze in the configurator (it was previously going to the CityCross - which, to be fair is pretty similar and what the Waze - in 2WD spec - is based on). To select the 4x4, choose the 0.9litre engine...

https://www.fiat.co.uk/panda-range/panda-waze-configurator/#/version

Thanks for that. I will have a look. Bit late for me but its good they have listened and sorted it. WELL DONE FIAT!!!

Just looked. I can have all the extras I ordered so it should be good but the list price of 16700 is staggering . Thank heaven for the special offer. For £0 I could have a 2017 year model!!

The 4x4 I had for a very short time before it was written off (and later replaced by another) had the 5 seat option. Trust me - it may have had three belts in the back, but there was only room for two passengers there! Id suggest that spec'ing the 5 seat option is a waste of £100, personally.

Now that's just rubbing it in.

Which exact tyres have been fitted to any recently arrived Cross or Waze 4x4 versions? When I ordered a few weeks ago the Waze spec. said Mud and Snow, I know because I checked at the time (here we get snow in the winter and mud in the summer, and tyres really do make a difference!). Now spec clearly says "Summer tyres".

My car was delivered fresh from the factory to me 11 months ago (Panda Cross 0.9 4x4) and came with Goodyear 4 season tyres, incidentally I argued for a set of mats as the then brochure stated it came with mats, Stone acre Stafford were surprised about mats being mentioned in the brochure but relented when I pointed it out to them.

My car was delivered fresh from the factory to me 11 months ago (Panda Cross 0.9 4x4) and came with Goodyear 4 season tyres...
Hence the question: in the very most recent Fiat specs (from April 2019 onwards) they have replaced the reference to 'winter tyres' (on the 4x4) or 'all season' (on the 4x4 Cross) models, to read 'summer tyres'.

Personally I suspect this is a mis-print (it is! See * below), but it may have something to do with the poor WLTP vehicle emissions test results which have led (since last September) to Fiat dropping the TwinAir engine from the Panda range (except in the 4x4 variants), and dropping the diesel altogether. (Under these new tests, the TwinAir fell well short of Fiat's earlier fuel consumption claims, and also emitted rather more CO2 than they previously suggested -- so bad that the venerable old 1.2 'Fire' engine the TwinAir was supposed to pension off was actually better. And the diesel, which claims to meet the Euro6 standard, again missed the target for NOx emissions by a very long way. )

* Edit: Fiat have corrected the online price list (here https://www.fiat.co.uk/content/dam/fiat/uk/business/Fiat-Price-List-April-2019.pdf) - see page 55 which has now reverted to saying 'all season tyres' on the 4x4 Cross (and says 'mud and snow' for the non-Cross 4x4).

My 2 week old Waze 4x4 has the Goodyear All Season tyres.
