Re: what mpg are you getting

Just done exactly that up and down the A1M in 4th gear and gave it a good blast, my MPG has now gone up to 52 mpg strangely as I`m hardly using 6th gear, and that is just pottering around the doors, I take my wife to UHND at Durham 3 times a week she is on the front line keep safe.

It has been my experience (after explanation from my friendly Fiat expert) that sixth gear is not always the most economical, depending on the speed, revs etc.
Sometimes 4th or 5th will be better.
I no longer have 6th gear since the new Tipo 1.3dsl does not come supplied with one. However, I am getting an all time average of 62.4mpg with the latest few fills entered on Fuelly returning 65.1mpg.
Of course, there are always anomalies, like the dashboard reading I got one evening of 3.1L/100Km (91.1mpg)

Re: what mpg are you getting

Just had my service done on 32000 miles, with Richard Hardie, have the monthly plan, needed 2 new front tyres, have used HI Tech in Washington who quoted 46.80 for Landsail tyres, anyone got any feedback on them they seem new to the UK.

Don't skimp on tyres, they are proper budget tyres, you can get mid range Kumho or Avons for around 55 each and then Michelins from around 70 each, prices from BlackCircles including fitting on a 205/55/16 size tyre.

Re: what mpg are you getting

Just an update, got my tyres done and I did get Landsail, a friend said there was nothing wrong with them, also the mechanic said my nearside alloy wheel was buckled and would need replacing, costs from 219,00 to 294.00 plus vat and fitting (not happy), however a family member recommended Alloypro of Newburn Newcastle upon tyne, and today I had the wheel unbuckled, the alloy cleaned, and the drivers wheel had the scuffs all taken out, cost 138.00 inc vat. I did challenge Richard Hardie who were the previous owner, who would have known the wheel was heavily weighted and kerbed but they said as I`d had the car for 11 months and done 8000 miles there was nothing they could do, as this was a demonstration car I thought they would have made a contribution, so everyone out there you won`t know if you`re driving on a buckled wheel I didn`t know and there were no obvious signs.

Re: what mpg are you getting

After 8 months and a mix of 5 mile commutes and occasional longer run, the mpg has settled at just over 40.

Re: what mpg are you getting

3 weeks ago changed from a 1.2 panda pop to a 1.4 Tipo Easy. Tipo Handbook gives 44.9 average so I'll wait and see as the pop was giving 47.7 average. only done 300 miles so far so a bit early to say.

If you getting 44.9 from it your doing quite well against the panda given the 300kg or so extra weight in the tipo

Re: what mpg are you getting

Has anyone tried Stoneacre Fiat in Newcastle apparantly they took over from Richard Hardie, so we now have 2 dealers in the north east, any sign of the fully elelctric 500 yet, and will they do a Tipo electic.

Hybrid Tipo almost certainly
little chance of a fully electric version I suspect
