Hi,

I'm a new member of the forum.
I live in the Netherlands near the Belgium Border
I'm reading articles for some time. The more i read the more enthousiastic i went about buying an mk1 panda 4x4
My ultimate goal is to participate in a few years a panda raid in marocco

A few weeks ago insaw an advert on a french selling website. They were selling a 1987 panda 4x4 a a price of € 2000,- Almost no information and only 2 pictures. Not possible to communicate with seller by email or WhatsApp
My knowledge of french language was not good enough to make a conversation by Phone

Price in advert went down and 3 weeks ago I i decided to to my car and a bring a trailer and drive 350km to France to take a look at it.

Sellers was a group of travvelers
with hand, feet and Google Translate spoke to Seller
it wasn't as bad as i expected so in the end i bought it and brought it to Home!

so i'm the owner of and 1987 panda val d'isere 4x4
next week Dutch registration and mot (i hope)

i hope to find tons of information in here and share my knowledge

I have removed rear bumper as support brackets were completely gone. They are a few euros each so i ordered new pair. Next week fitting bumper back

Hi and welcome, 🙂
Body corrosion is the usual problem, hope that is reasonable for you,

Have you owned FIAT group cars before?

Rust is very reasonable.
Inspected whole car and found nothing major

In front of both rear wel arches is a small rusty hole. Its a known bad area at pand i read

Rest of bottom is solid!

Inside a hole in boot floor of approx 5x5 cm.
Easy to weld i think

Bigger problem is front rh lower seatbelt mounting point is eaten away completely.☹️

For mot a I am allowed to remove right seat and seatbelt ( Passenger seat)
When there is no seat ,there is no seatbelt needed
This is ok to pass for mot😆
