Grande Punto Possible Upgrades

alls you had to do was twist the red and yellow wires together, bullet connector on to it then put it into the red or yellow single wire (cant remember which) and it would work, simple. most cars are like that now, be grateful its not an old french car citreons especially they have multiplex wiring which can be a ****er if you mess that up ive seen people locked out their vehicles and not been able to open it other than smashing the window! as for dab ariel should of got a glass mount which sits inside your car on the windscreen near invisible other that a little black box, run it down behind your panneling.

See mate I heard about this and I tried the lot. Eventually I came across a thread that said I needed to take a live feed from somewhere, and the easiest one is the fag lighter apparently.

I'm not fussed now anyways it's all done and that was the main thing!

Ordered some tint spray for my rear lights, time to tone them down a touch, and £5 is cheaper than Abarth lights for sure. And considering I just spent £75 on a new tail light I'm buggered if I'm spending anymore!:bang:

Tint spray arrived this morning and after loads of masking off (should of just removed them now I think of it) and no less than 6 layers or tint it's all done now.

Think tomorrow I'll invest more time in getting a darker finish as I'm not quite 100% happy, they're just not dark enough.

Will also get the side repeaters done too to help blend in better!

Next step is changing the headlights to something darker also to keep the whole theme going.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow but I'm impressed just how easy the tint is to work with!

Nice mate looking forward to seeing all your hard work with the tint spray mate.

Regards
Stephen

I'll post a picture once this weather clears it's been miserable!

Here's something for your brains though. My car is freezing, like all the time, need to wait for the engine temperature to climb half way before I get heat, and even then it's like an asthmatic on a ventilator blowing at you.

Don't get me wrong after like 30 minutes it does get so warm the window does go down.

The other problem is once it's too warm (ie. Summer) it just aint cold air that comes out, it's 'cool' but barely. When I turn on the AC it doesn't seem to make any difference what so ever.

Any suggestions on the weird happenings?

Well since buying her in May last year I've never actually done any detailing work, just quick washes and that's about it.

So got up early this morning, washed her, clayed all the paintwork, 'wax on' 'wax off', and then Autoglym gloss on and buffed off too.

The amount of crap that got pulled off my that clay actually ashamed me, but then it's probably never been done since it was made back in 07.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow!

Hi guys me again,

Tell you lot what's been going on this weekend, basically my 2 front bearing's went and both my drop links bend/snapped.

No my theory is that the sportlines have dropped it so low at the front thanks to the lump of a diesel that the poor dampers are doing overtime to compensate for the extra bounce.

Correct me if I'm wrong here!

Now rather than selling my 4 month old Eibach springs, could I just buy a set of like, basically uprated dampers for the front for say £100? Rather than shelling out like £600-700 for a full set of coilovers?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Or just sell your eibach springs which will give you most likely almost enough for some cheap coilovers that work really well. FK or JOM go at like £200

True man but I don't do half jobs, with my bearing's and drop links broken already I wouldn't buy any cheap one's I'd be more like to spend £500+ to ensure I don't have to keep forking out constantly for more and more repair work is all.

i have fks, good coilovers for the money bumpy as **** though, wouldnt like to put them on a diesel though :/ tbh id still rather have springs
Yeah just spoke to my mate who does the work for me, he reckons dampers would just be a waste and that the bearings tend to get water in them anyways so would be throwing money at nothing.

Plus with all the grit and salt we get up here basically once coilovers are set in height they just cease and there's no adjusting. So will be sticking with my current setup and might, might invest in slightly tougher drop links but that would be about it for me.

Well last weekend me and the misses took the car up north so please be warned if you're a clean freak this might not be for you!

If it's any consolation she's all cleaned up again (I'm talking about the car by the way before the innuendo come's rolling in  )

Also this is the first proper picture of my tinted back lights and really in the sun it doesn't do it justice, think I done 4 coats, clearly some more will be needed to get the look I want.

Also planning on doing something in the boot soon, be it just a fault floor or something to house a couple of speakers and amps I'm not decided yet!
