Hi I'm looking for some advice for my 2007 Multipla 1.9d Eleganza
I have unfortunately crashed the front driver wheel into a high curb at around 38 miles an hour. The side airbags deployed (including the one in the drivers seat).

I have not told insurance about it, as nobody was hurt, I don't want my premiums going through the roof (3 years no claims) and the car itself is drivable at the moment on the spare wheel (until I can get a replacement tyre).

There is no panel damage, very little wheel damage (3 inch scrape), and apart from the puncture, the car is still driving very well on the spare (the tracking is fine). I don't really know why the airbags deployed as the wheel hitting the curb was not a very great force.

Does my insurance need to know if the airbags have been deployed?
Can I get the internal damage (replace with new/spare parts airbags) repaired by a local garage or does it need to be a fiat dealer that does it?
Will the front and passenger airbags still deploy in a crash situation at the moment?

Thanks for any advice! :)

Sorry to hear that,
atleast your ok thats the main thing, acar is only metal can be fixed /replaced,

insurance dont have to know about airbags,
you can have new ones fitted expensive option,
or go the Breaker route, grab air bags and airbag ecu from breaker and replace,
your airbag ecu will have crash data recorded,

airbags whats left of them that didnt fire will no longer work, system has fired so
will be de-activated id presume,
get someone to look over it, and decide your best option,
