Hi all,

Well, after a very long time of trouble free motoring, my multi has decided to give me something to do!!

Over the last few weeks, when starting up i've had the 'oil level too high' message come up on the dash. (not everytime ) I have checked several times and know this to be suspect as the oil level is spot on.
Now I'm getting the the glow plug light flashing for a little while after starting.
Can they be check easily?
She starts first time with no trouble in the recent freezing conditions so I'm assuming all is ok.

Could this be ecu fault and would a diagnostic check throw up some info?

cheers all

As to the oil query I have no answer and I would tend to ignore it but I would suspect that the reason for the glow-plug flashing is that one (or more) of the plugs have failed. Do not be alarmed as you have already noticed the car will start without the plugs working. Mine has done so for the last four years!

Try charging or changing the battery if its done more than 4 or 5 years service, this weather really picks out the batteries that are past their best which can throw up erroneous warnings.

Anyone out there?
I have an 05 multi and the engine oil warning light always tells me it's too low. ironically, during this cold snap that warning has gone.
However, i would check the battery, maybe it needs a top up or if you have £100 spare i would replace it with a new one from Halfords.
