I would just like to add my experience of the multipla clutch, mine is a 115 jtd with 66500k, like many others the bite point was about one inch from the floor, the pedal felt fine, then it just stopped working/disengaging altogether. I read everything on the forum and concluded this, If your clutch is like this,it is probably nothing to do with the master or slave cylinders.
It is the fingers of the clutch cover plate are worn down or disintegrating so much that the clutch will not release. I opted to change the clutch myself as I was quoted £500 to change the clutch by an independant fiat specialist who was very helpfull and I picked his brain. I asked about wear on the DMF his words were "new normal movement is around 25mm, most he works on have about 50mm movement." this movement is measured by rotating the flywheel back and forth and measuring the movement, I did this with mine, it moved quite easily about 25-30mm so its ok. I bought a fiat clutch kit for £132 plus a cheap aligment tool. Some great posts from JTDman and bikes-for-me helped but I found it to be a horrendous job, knuckles skined, forearms bruised and 12-14 hours of work. I nearly gave up after 6 hours, but I stuck at it. Horrible job and I had a warm garage and a pit. Maybe it is worth paying someone else to do it. Its hard. Anyway I did finish and my clutch now is very light to use, with a normal bite point at least 3-5 inches from the floor and disengaging beautifully.
I will post photos of the very worn broken clutch cover plate fingers later.

(y)Well done mate,i am still at it only got axle stands and grass drive until win lottery.:D
Just about to strip mine again,so any tips you might have on the fitting and lining up of clutch and fitting of release bearing most welcome. It is so anoying :bang: to of done all that hard work ,only to find its not working.
Well at least i have cleaned and greased all nuts and bolts,so they should come out easy this time.:D

Now I'm worried!
I've only had mine a few weeks and assumed that the clutch bite point being so low was normal on this vehicle:eek:
So I guess mine is on the way out too eh?
I do keep finding things wrong ( I can see why the guy sold this to me now)
How long do they last like this? Mine's done 52 000 miles.

Bad luck, I really only followed your posts and JTDmans instructions. I did not drop the sub frame or undo the drop links, which made it very difficult!
As for linning up the clutch, I brought a cheap laser alignment tool £11 basically you use it to fasten the clutch cover and the friction plate together, turn it all over and centralise the friction plate on the clutch cover friction surface and tighten the tool, then fix it to the flywheel and hope for the best. It didn't seem very good but it worked. I also wriggled the crankshaft at the pulley with a wrench.
The release bearing on mine went on with the extra bit of lug at the bottom, this kind of hooked around the clutch fork, to enabled me to pull the bearing back and forth without it coming off, If its on properly it will not fall off easily. I then put it right back as far as it would go to the gearbox side and left it there until I got the whole thing back together, Good Luck!
