Cinquecento Black cinq on a dark day

Introduction

I've been working on a friend's Cinquecento with him, he doesn't wield spanners much, I do.

He hasn't seen it shiny yet, last time he saw it in the metal it was up on stands with dust and oily finger marks all over it. He does lurk here, see if he spots it. Actually we could have a little poll to decide if he's worthy of the Cinq. I have the car, keys, logbook, MOT so could sell it to a non lurking Forum member:D

Brief spec
Full Abarth kit
14" speedlines with Pirelli 175/50's
18000 Mile 1242 engine
Lowered, with Bilstein shocks (not the Streetline kit!)
Ferrari 328 steering wheel
Smoked rear lights
Supersprint exhaust
Poly bushes all round
GT front disks, rear brakes new
Goodridge hoses all round

Finally wasn't too sure about the de-badged bonnet so found it an appropriate badge

Hi Emma

Thank you, it has swallowed up a fair few hours since you were over in the summer. I think Mark will enjoy it in London, ideal for round town with the occasional longer distance blast.

There are a few bits left to do on reassembling bits of the interior, but basically its done for the moment. Unless Mark decides it needs more power!

Have you started on your Seicento yet? Your Cinq is looking magnificent BTW, looking forward to seeing it for real sometime.

Regards

Peter

Yes project seicento has started, mainly collecting together all parts needed, like supersprint manifold, different inlet manifold and throttle body as we are disregarding the fly by wire parts and converting it to cable.
Wires also need to be sorted and connected to the new ECU, which may take a while lol, there are so many!

So maybe at the start of January, we may be in the position to start getting the old engine out and new one in :D

Thankyou, yes i'll be at most event with the cinq next year!:D

Love it,where do I sign?

Liam

Thank you, I just typed out a list for Mark of what we did to it, lots of little parts to really get it up to spec and the list runs well into the third page of A4! It drives beautifully. Still a few little jobs to do, I'm not happy how it was tracked up by the MOT station, all from one side, so I'll re-do that.

It's pretty good though, still things we could do, it has the larger Punto throttle body, so could go 40mm, I cut, sleeved and welded the original downpipe, I prefer that to a spacer as it allows for a bit of leeway on clearing the ARB, but we could go sports cat.

The original idea however was to create something which was significantly worked over but looked like it could have left the factory like that, do justice to the Abarth bodykit as it were.

I've mislaid the RH smoked indicator, it has odd ones at he moment so that needs sorting.

Looks absolutely stunning :worship:

I think its just the smooth, clean finish and fit of everything on it that makes it look so damn good :yum:

The only thing I would suggest is maybe an extra 20mm lower would leave it sitting just right in my opinion (y)

Definately need to ditch the badge on the bonnet in my honest opinion, I believe that the smooth bonnet is part of the reason why it looks so good

Car is looking very good Peter, you should get some engine pics up as well show folk the work that went into fitting that Novitec airbox with a 1242.

I don't think anyone else said, but the reg ends in NRO which is very apt for the car as its black, Italian and nearly says NERO.

Hi Aaron, hope you're enjoying the hols, best wishes to you and Emma for 2007.

Great minds think alike! Mark has nicknamed the car Nero. I'll get some more pics up, the Novitec is stupidly tight with a 1242 as you know. Even the original part of the airbox just touches the bonnet. The car does have new engine mounts so it'll al drop slightly as it gets used, but it certainly takes a bit of massaging!
