Grande Punto 2008 fuel cut off switch location.

Hi

My 2008 Grande Punto 1.4 3 door hatchback won't start.

It turns over but will not fire up. I checked for spark and I have one.

It is as if I am not getting fuel through. I ran out of petrol and topped it up again but now it wont start.

Where is the fuel cut off switch on this model?

And would appreciate any ideas. Would a tow start it?
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome,

turn on the ignition , can you hear a buzzing from under the rear seat..??
that's the fuel pump.. if it's running - you have another issue,

I believe the reset button in on the plastic trim , UK passengers footwell,
near door hinges

here is a helpful thread - IF you are having more trouble - reply to it..

do let us know what you find..,

Re: Grande Punto 2008 fuel cut off switch location.

driver side (uk) drivers footwell in the plastic trim there is a hole... (look at the passenger side similar place to the bonnet release pull)

Later models have a reset via the indicator stalk

To reset car operation, follow this procedure:
turn the ignition key to MAR;

activate the right-hand indicator;

deactivate the right-hand indicator;

activate the left-hand indicator;

deactivate the left-hand indicator;

activate the right-hand indicator;

deactivate the right-hand indicator;

activate the left-hand indicator;

deactivate the left-hand indicator;

turn the ignition key to STOP

Hi

you wrote,

can you explain what you mean, thanks.

Is there a way of checking if fuel is getting through up to the engine?

unlikely..

the petrol tank has an electric pump,
it's accessed from under the rear seat..

the fire prevention disables the pump..

it's all covered in that link above..

as I said,
reply to the Grande thread if you need more help

Hi.
If immobilised.. the keycodeadlock symbol will come on.. but NOT go off.

Does it work like this.?

The central door locking may be unrelated.

Ok.
It should flash up the key symbol.. until it has recognised the key's code chip

If it doesnt show at all that sounds wrong.

Worth checking all the stuff covered in electrical FAQs at top of Grande section.
