Hi,
Had garaged my Fiat Marea 1.6ELX (2000, automatic) for 2 months or so and when I came to start it again last week the battery was flat. I recharged it on a trickle charger until completely charged, but when I turn the ignition it won't start and there is just a fairly loud clicking sound coming from the engine.
The clicking keeps happening after you turn the key back to 'off' and sometimes the clicking sound moves to the ignition switch itself (which starts to shake making it difficult to take the key out !!).
Does anyone haveany ideas what's going on?
If it's the starter motor, anyone know where it is (or photos of what it looks like?
Thanks....

When you start the ELX Auto it 'grabs' the key and releases the relay for the shift stick and the brake pedal. If there is insufficient power you will get that click click click because there is just not enough juice to complete the operation. The only solution is to remove the key ( when it will let you ) and get a new battery or charge it properly. If it still does it with a new battery then the problem is something else.

( yes, this happenned to me, and it was a weak battery ).

It is a scary sound, but it causes no damage.
