It has to have oil as well, the recharger should have alist and add the right amount after re-gassing. A need to re gas can be a symptom of something else but worth a try .

Bulldog/renegade i knew u's 2 would have the answers . Where would you guys recomend that i take it to be inspected/repaired - obviously not Fiat i guess - iv got an ad from them 'regassing for £30' -what do you's rekon pls??

I found that out the hard way after paying for a few re-gassings and eventuallyfinished up at Basingstoke (long story) where an independant who was honest and knew something about it helped sort my car. Azure Air. I had to think long and hard but eventually put a new compressor on, I'm sure the original was blown by a failed triple switch that the local clown could not be *ss*d to diagnose. In the meantime I did get some mileage from the sealing gloop they can put in, but on my experience I would not recommend it. The £30 re-gas has to be a sales come on.

Thanks for that mate , i think it just needs regassing as it used to work but not using it for a while then turning it on its cool but not 'cold' like it was-, well im hoping it just needs gas:confused:

when i had aircon (in my first marea) i bought a re-gassing kit from halfords, it was £30-40 from memory and it did the job.

if this is the first time you have had issues i would try a regass first, IMO its probably just escaped over time.

you can probably get one of the kits cheaper on ebay.

Hi Guys.

These diy re-gas kits are they any good?
At the garage they apply vacum for 10 min before adding 600g of R134a and oil + tracing color.
Does this kit only contain R134A or oil as well?

I've changed nearly the whole A/C system, compressor, most of the tubes, the receiver drier and the triple switch.
But i need to re-gas nearly every year (2 years old original compressor leaking again).
So i would like a cheap re-gas sollution.

Cheers
Michael
