Hello all

As you’ve seen form my first post I was having problems bleeding the diesel pump and thanx to you guys the car is final up and running but I still have a few problems.

Basically I had to change the engine as person driving at the time went over a speed hump the wrong way cracking the sump and driving without realising meaning engine dead :(

I sourced a 1.9 TD 100 engine and I have swooped everything over from my original 1.9 TD 75 and at the same time new timing belt new gaskets service etc.

Only thing that remains on the engine form the 100 set up is the cam (which I think might be one of my problems)

Ok now to go thru the problems

First one is that I have no water temp reading inside the car. Even thou everything works well thermostat and fan there is no reading come thru and im guessing this is aiding to the reason the engine runs like a bag of crap whilst warming up.

Secondly and this is the major part.

Until the engine is warmed up it stalls it pig to start and like it’s choking itself (wont rev)

To be able to get to run okish when warm Ive had to advance the pump slightly so now im getting black smoke due to this but the engine does feel dead to be honest and even thou you hear the turbo spin up it doesn’t itself pick up for a bit.

I need a few expert answer to why this might be happening but im planning on putting the original 75 cam into this engine ive got a feeling as the 100 has bigger injectors means the cam in there is not suited to 75 setup hence why its a pig and seems to be running really bad.

Im also going to put the diesel pump back to factory and hopefully source a new water temp sensor and put that in.

Is there anything else that it might be? as I have seen someone else suffer from a timing relay ?

again thank you in advance
