Moreno Blue

Hi all, new fiat owner to be signing up.

Going for a Punto 1.2 16V Active Sport and I was looking at sprint blue until I get a call today saying it's discontinued and being replaced by moreno (morano, morono?) blue if it's ok with me. Problem is nobody has seen this new colour in any of the dealers I've called and I don't want it to suck when I see it for the first time on my car. Anyone else heard or seen anything of this or have any idea when I'll get to see it on other cars? And what was wrong with sprint blue in the first place?!

TIA

they do this regularly, sprint red became tizano red, and shockingly broom yelow is now imola yellow. normally there isn't that much of a difference, but i don't know if i'd be taking the chance!

see if you can get the paint code from them

you might then be able to get a can made up at halfords, just to give you an idea of the colour!

Well Broom Yellow and Imola Yellow are different shades, so I would try and get them to show you the colour.

Sprint blue and Morano blue do appear the same according to the new Stilo brochure I have, but in it Imola yellow also appears the same a broom, which as Steve says it is not.

Personally, I'd still go for it, I reckon you'll only be able to tell the difference if you park next to a sprint blue car, and you never know, it might be better;)

yeah they only change the colour slightly, you'd only ever notice if you had each colour side by side!

Thanks everyone for the info, I'll check out the new Punto brochure when there is one just in case, but I'm reassured by your comments.

Really looking forward to getting the car (April delivery) and being a part of the forum, hopefully only for good reasons :).

Just a quick update. Fiat haven't added Moreno Blue to there car configuration site, it's still Sprint Blue. As was suggested, it seems to be almost a straight swap of names as brochures and dealer staff give the impression it's the same colour.

Also I now finally have a collection date for 8th May, so I'll find out myself with my own eyes. 1 week to go!! :D
