Hi
I hope some of you might be able to help me out.
I have a wiper motor that needs replacing. However the wiper motor turns out not to be native to my fiat Bravo (the wiring has all been changed!). Becuase of this, I do not know which wiper motor to order.

The part number of the wiper motor that needs replacing is TGE402 and has a number of 792433 01 on it.

Do any of you know what type of fiat and year it came off of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

why would you want to order a new one when a scrapyard part is only £5? i'd remove the motor from a bravo in a scrapyard and then fit it to your car. that will be easy to do.

the rear wiper motors on bravo's fail all the time, its very common (thats why i assume you mean the rear motor). the same type of motor is used on bravos bravas mareas and mk1 puntos. i guess a previous owner replaced a broken motor with one from another car which is why the wiring has been touched (e.g fitted a punto motor on your bravo). replacing it with a standard bravo motor shouldn't be difficult, especially if you take note of the wiring on the car you remove it from, or even remove the wiring with the motor and then join the wires to the wires on your car.

whatever you do please dont buy a new motor, that would be a waste of money. save the cash and treat yourself to a new CD or something with the cash you save. besides going to scrapyards is good fun.

Thanks for the reply.
However, it is not quite as simple as that.
My Bravo has apparently been altered quite a bit.
There is only one front wiper for a start.

I think it would make my life easier if I could just replace the existing wiper motor with an identical one that works.

Thanks for the info on getting a 2nd hand one. I'll do just that if I can find out what year and model it comes from.

oh you mean the front! if you're trying to replace the motor on a single wiper conversion it wont be a standard part on any car, it'll be the motor from a single wiper conversion kit. not cheap at all, last time i fitted one the lad paid £160 for the kit, and the motor is the main part of the kit so even the motor alone would easily be £100, if they'd sell a motor by itself, which i doubt.

try and find out which make the single wiper converison kit is then contact the manufacturer. or convert the car back to standard 2 wipers, probably easier and cheaper, but probably not what you want

Oh!
Doesn't sound like good news at all.

The motor does say if was made by Fiat Magnetti Marelli and has the codes I gave in the initial post.

I really just wanted to get my wiper fixed on the cheap, as it makes driving in the rain at the moment and bit 'troublesome' to say the least.

Do you know where I should look if it is indeed a kit I need to buy?

By the way, thanks for your help.
