hi all i have finished fitting my screens and im well happy with the result the ps2 is a bit hard 2 mount any ware as the glove box is 2 small but i managed 2 get it in the foot well .. its so good watching dvds in the car ..........quick question does any 1 know if it is legal 2 have the passengers side on whilst on the move ........

illegal!!!your not allowed a screen that is visible by the driver whilst the vehichle is in motion,thats why oe systems often only work with the handbrake on(tv function) although with it being high up on the passenger side i would guess it would be down to the opinion of the copper that pulls you.might be worth putting heavy tint on the rear screen so that anyone behind you cant make out what the light they see is

How can something like a GPS system work...I was in a taxi on sat night with one mounted at shoulder level to the driver on the right hand side of the windscreen- totally visible to the driver...

thats interesting, the word 'television' being used suggests its an old law, and no exclusion for SAT NAV systems...

yeah if you look at new cars with sat nav then without voice directions then you have to look at the screen but i guess they look on this as a driving aid whereas a tv is just a distraction

Hang on, am i missing something here? Why would you want to watch TV when you're driving anyway? They are mutually exclusive items.... watch TV on sofa at home OR drive somewhere!

If you want the person next to you to watch it in the passenger seat the law should state that they must wear suitable headphones and the screen be completely out of view of the driver. I know it probably doesn't and maybe many of you won't agree with me but on a fundemental level, if your partner is watching say, a great episode of neighbours on the way home and it has that jaws style music you would definately be distracted to look at the screen. Well, a neighbours fan would be

Sat Nav however, it is safer to know where you are going with either voice directions or a VERY quick glance at the screen than changing lanes endlessly etc. not having a clue. Maybe anyway.

Handbrake on and out of gear, both screen should be viewable but how in the world could you ever enforce this?? If anyone on here manages to do multitasking to such a high level without having crashes daily I am very impressed!

no i aint got a tv tuner i dont watch tv at home let alone in my car i just watch dvds and ply the ps2 in it .......... sounds fat comeing out my sound system
