Ive a 1990 (s2) Lancia y10 with a fuelling problem

It seems to be dramatically over supplying, ok when cold but way too much when warm.

I can’t find any info anywhere on the system, which looks to be an early Punto with rudimentary I.e, as opposed to a carb.

Are there any manuals out there, or is there an ‘ epert’ In these- who can sort it? It s been into the usual Lania suspects, who charged nicely but effectively did nothing.

Recgonise this isn’t a Fiat , but it is a close relative, and I’m getting nowhere!

After checking the obvious stuff like fuel pump and air filter you need to look at the O2 sensor.

The sensor is ignored by the EU at cold start until the coolant has warmed sufficiently. This gives the default rich fuel mixture. When the engine is warm enough, the O2 senor is switched in and the fuel flow is weakened to give a correct value.
SO, excessive fueling can be caused by a faulty O2 sensor. It can also be caused by a miss-firing spark plug(s). The unused oxygen is seen by the O2 sensor causing the ECU to make the mixture richer. This clogs up the remaining plugs and makes matters worse.

Hi.

Which engine have you got??

At 1990 build date.. it will be more akin to the classic pandas. ;)

It does sound as if it may not be adjusting fuel mix.. are the temp. sensors reading ok?
