Not sure if I’m posting in the right thread, admins please be kind if I’m in the wrong place.

I had a high pitch squealing noise coming from the engine which would get a tiny bit quieter when the clutch was depressed- drove fine & pulled lovely but the loud noise was too much.

I thought it was the clutch & so began removing the gearbox & found nothing wrong inside, so put it back together.

Now; when connecting the battery back up and turning the key in the ignition, I have nothing what so ever- can’t see a bad earth or blown fuse anywhere.

Begging for someone with knowledge to help, even better, I’d happily pay someone to come help me get it fixed- BS34 area.

I would re-check the electrics you've disturbed while removing the gearbox. THere's also a possibility you've allowed the positive wire from the starter motor to short somewhere and possibly blowing a high-amperage fuse (I think there was one specifically for the starter, located next to the battery).

What vehicle is this engine fitted to? If it's a Firefly, I think that's based on the old Panda, right? If so, we can move this thread to the Panda section
