Part of the reason I bought a Fiorino (apart from it being very, very cheap) was because I'd like to save a few oil fields and run Biodiesel.
Turns out the nearest Biodiesel outlet is sixty miles away.
I really should have checked that first.
Anyway do Fiat Diesel engines run well on Biodiesel?
I'm going to have to start making my own. ;)

once it had covered it's 1st 300,000 miles our old tipo TD was run on Diesel and Cooking oil, in stronger and stronger mixes, until it was essentially 100% oil,
biggest problem was that it always made you feel like a "fry-up" when you reached your destination,

some interesting threads in the Ducato section about such use,

There are a few discussion on here about this. Have a search for veg oil.

Your handbook probably advises against it, have a look. If it is under warranty this may be affected, so check.

Veg oil and mineral oil don't like each other. Proper biodiesel has other chemicals added to keep the mix together and prevent gelling. So making your own could be difficult or risky. Older mechanical injected engines seemed to be ok, but more modern ones with electronic injection are less happy.

If using veg oil, it is recommended that you change the engine oil more frequently as it gets contaminated. Any veg oil in the mineral oil will try to turn to jelly, not good for passing oil around tiny oilways. Changing engine oil and filter more frequently might negate any fuel savings.

Diesel is the Marmite of the car world.

Yeast extract being a waste product of making Guinness and Diesel being a waste product of refining Petrol.

Just like Marmite it's a love or hate situation and I can't stand the stuff. I'd rather smell like a chip pan fire than someone burning old brake fluid on a barbecue.

In my two stroke days (Superteen 125 and 250's) I had strawberry flavored two stroke oil that make the bike smell nice (although I never had an issue with stroker smell). I'm thinking some of the enfused oils I can get hold of would be much nicer than how the van smells now. :)
