I am thinking of buying a used car, a Fiat Punto Elx 12.5cc infact.

The previous owner sold it because a the cam belt snapped - it was then bought a local car trader who has put on a new cam belt and and wants to sell it to me for a reasonable price. It has done 120,000 miles on the clock.

Is this car safe to buy after the belt has snapped?

Would it have done any damage to the car?

if its an 8v then valves wont have bent

but its done a lot of miles still so dont pay too much for it

is £695 a fair price?

you havent given the cars age, if its 2002 or newer that would be a fair price

It's from 2000 and has a ding on one side.

But it does come with 6 months tax and 8 months MOT

i'd wait for a better one if it was me
