A warning to those using biodiesel. There is a weak link in the system. Although all the pipes and seals are compatible with BD there are black rubber boots on the electrical terminals of the in-tank fuel pump. These melt into black lumps of goo on contact with BD. Although this does not effect the safety or integrity of the fuel pump you can get lumps of goo blocking the inlet to the pump as I now know to my cost.
Not sure what the best advice is here. Carry on in ignorance and hope the fuel filter catches it, or pull out the fuel pump and remove the offending terminal boots before they dissolve.
I guess this is applicable to any model with an in-tank fuel pump not just my marea and SVO will probably not have this effect.
Just thought I ought to pass this on. Anyone else had problems?
