I'm sure this is old news to many but I nearly lost out on £90. I am selling Fiat Punto and got called by a company called Motorlink who I believe used to be wisematch.

A very enthusiastic and persuasive sales lady told me she worked for motor link who match Buyers to sellers and that they had people registered for finance with them looking for Fiat puntos and who wanted to view my car immediately. when I asked what it would cost me she said nothing as they make their money back from interest from the finance- this seemed to be too good to be true and I got suspicious.

She then mentioned I'd have to pay £89.99 to register with them to set up the viewings but that this would be refunded to me as soon as my car was sold - it was at this point that I started to smell a rat and told her she could call me back but I wanted to check up their website for terms and conditions first. I typed in Motorlink and found this forum about the companies other name Wisematch and boy am I glad I found it:-

DO NOT PAY THESE GUYS!!

I fully admit I was stupid to even get slightly roped in by it, but selling privately can be such a chore that i was getting desperate and if this post saves even one other fiat owner from being scammed its worth it!

I've only just got my Punto but I'll be sure to keep this info in mind at a future date :)

i had exactly the same phone call about my bike. As soon as i was told about the price i just laughed and said no. I am sure they told me it was £60 tho. People will try anything now a days.
