sorry paul i know your not gunna like this thread - so i apologise :)

right i have been on kazza and you have to pay for the use it, does anyone use it and what do you think of it.

are there any other sites i could use free would be ideal but i am not too bothered.

this is more for putting on pc rather than burning coz i prefer to buy (y)

I used to use Kazaa which is good for older music but all up-to-date music and films appear to be fakes. Not worth paying for IMO, though I do have the free version which I can bring across next week if you would like :). I also use Imesh (good, no ads but not many folks on there), DC++ (cheers wimmy :), but can't seem to connect to hub list any more through my firewall grrrr), e-mule (best so far really - no fakes but can be slow) and Bit torrent (which has no upload limits and downloads very very slowly IMO).

If you're downloading make sure you have good firewall and virus protection because the little nasties will try and get into your PC. And last but not least don't forget never to download any copyrighted content, only the freely licenced stuff ;)

suprnova is foooooolking good *if your on broadband obviously* to use the suprnova site, google "bit torrent" once u install this lil baby, goto the suprnova.org site click something to download and there ya go!

(while installing bit torrent, just lie about paying the donation, i did :p)

downloaded so much stuff from there, DC++ is ok but might be abit complicated to setup for "newbies" plus theres a certain amount of filege you need to share before entering share rooms (hubs) for example "you must share at least 5gb to join this hub" If you can work DC++ out, which to be honest isn't that hard to do, your sorted.

as for the 'orrible "K" word, i wouldn't touch that with my brother's

forget about winmx, kazza and limewire etc etc, full of spyware now a days (n)

P.S. Bit torrnt downloads start abit slow but i'm getting speeds of about 90-120kb/s after about 2-3 mins

is that the media player ur using?? some songs u dont have 2 pay for. Kazaa lite is the best one u can get cos u dont have to pay anything. but u cant get it off the net anymore, u can pay to register on download sites that have kazaa lite on it but the kinda defeats the object a bit.

fati pacman have you an ideas as to what the problem is with dc++ because it'snot downloading the hubs list. Every time I click on 'download hubs' it comes up 'failed'. This started happening after I did an update to my firewall about a week ago. Or does the list move? Do I need to specify a new location for it to download hubs from? Or somethign else?

in DC++ goto settings ( that lil icon with the tick in it) click downloads, and stick this "http://www.indx.f2s.com/hublist.config" in the public hub list url
