Some of Radio 1's Live Lounge were good but it's mostly monotonal hipsters these days.

Jimi Hendrix's cover versions of Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower", Chuck Berry's "Johnny B Goode" done live, and his debut single of Billy Roberts' "Hey Joe" spring to mind.
So does the Rolling Stones' cover of Chuck's "Route 66"
Joan Osborne's cover of the Motown classic "Heatwave" is good.
Sinead O'Connor's version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2U"
Springsteens "Jersey Girl" originally done by the charismatic genius Tom Waite and Johnny Allen's "Promised Land" covered by Elvis.
The Byrds version of "Mr Tambourine Man" was better than Dylan's, mainly because of McQuinn's jingly-jangly Rickenbacker riffs at the beginning.
The Clash "I Fought the Law" is another good one, so is "I Only Want To Be With You" Eurythmics.
