....i loved my old bike which was a hardtail jump / slalom frame....

My Playbike....Planet X Jack Flash (Mk1), Azonic bars & stem, Hope Big 'uns, Mavic 321s, Hope discs, Full XTR downhill rig....I'm a big guy so I needed it strong....(y)

Incidentally, I've never ridden a full susser and I'm sure they're really cool if you spend enough, but I went back to rigid forks  as I just found the front end too weighty with even my Rock Shox on it....

Sorry for hijacking the thread....

you shouldn't need discs they don't ware anything like car brakes pads yes discs no...

discs vary in thickness between manufacture plus contact area.

i have never managed to ware a set of disc rotors out and i regularly get them blue...

as for pads i cant fault goodridge

www.chainreactioncycles.com is a good start

so is

www.Ukbikestore.co.uk

for the UK you will want metal stintered AKA gold pads you will find the standard shimano pads are organic usually and wont last long in the wet muddy UK

yeah, thats what i was thinking - i would be using magura hydraulic v brakes before looking at any cable disc brakes. again, like with full suspension, i just see it as a gimmick.. if it were me i'd bin them and fit some XT V's. it's what i have on my bike (ageing pro-flex 857!), and they do the job fine. :D

i had magura frog hydraulic v brakes on my bike, they were far superior for trialing then disc, they had the power to even crush the rim :slayer:
