The cost of petrol.

In a few months its gone up 30p a litre round here and its gone from £38 a fill up to about £55 a fill up.

A tank is lasting just over a week I will go insane if it goes up anymore, its getting to the point where i am struggling to run a car :bang:

My raise at work (cost of living) was 3% seriously what goes up by 3% a year now. Our council tax has gone up more than that. Food, gas, water electric.

ARRGGGHHHH

sorry i needed to vent

I want it to go up more, means the roads will be quieter and can go out "just for a drive" (y)

But seriously it is rediculous especially the kindda mileage I do in a week having to pay for it myself (n)

It's slowly getting to me too - paid £1.38 a litre the other day in hereford for diesel

I'll be looking to convert to SVO pretty soon I think!

The thing is we (uk) have the cheapest fuel in europe, but pay the most tax on it at iirc 58 %, we don't even import that much either 5%iirc - it will get to the point that people will go beyond protests and break out into poll tax style rioting resulting in (hopefully) Pm stepping down Thatcher style.

Takes £75 for a full tank on my Stilo now.

Just use your car less outside of work hours:)

Its disgusting that a few people at the top of a few companies can dominate how an entire civilisation lives their life.

Break the mould, if you dont buy petrol, they go out of business. They need us but the image is very much turned around and thrown back into our faces when they rape us with price increases.

Get a bike, get the bus, walk, etc. Save yourself money in the process so you can go out and buy some nice clothes for a night out etc etc:)

This is the catch 22 that said oil companies/governments hold people in.

They could put the price up to £5 per litre tomorrow, and people will pay it because they dont see any way around it.

In the 80's, households had 1 car for the whole family. Nowerdays, this can be up to three/four.

My friend for example: He has an MX5, his sister has an oldskool bravo, Father has a Transit Van for work, and mum and dad share a new bravo. ALL parked in and around the same semi detached.

etc etc

So it's literally, carry on just paying the increase for consumables every time through, gritted teeth, until eventually you lose your house/cannot afford the rent OR change your lifestyle so that they arent squeezing you dry.

The general idea apparently, is (not just financial, look at all the focus on yobs constantly in the media etc), that the goverment have us "living in fear" so that we turn to to them and beg them to put a stop to whatever is going wrong for us.

It's deep stuff, but it constantly re-occurs throughout history, which is why I keep going on about it, but some people just dont see it:rolleyes: or are ignorant to it.
