Did you see it on the Gadget Show? It was simply amazing, auto rec on impact or heavy breaking, rec's the level of impact (Ideal for any whiplash claim:yum:) and had good video qualtiy.

And I love my gadgets, another thing in the car worth almost as much as it:p. I'm justwondering how long it will be before they're forsale on eBay:rolleyes:.

MEP

how much and where from?

did you go for the one camera on the 2 way camera?

so you can review what face you pulled before the crash

does it replace the original rear view?

I havent brought it yet, still going to do some homework as it takes alot to make me part with £300 big ones! lol.

I'll let you know when I do get one though, and maybe even post some videos!

Jon.

YouTube - Car Accident Video Captured #12

Interesting vid, as the guy is driving along, to the left of him are some large triangular structures, the road markings indicate that the lane he is in is intended for vehicles turning left. I wonder if he showed that vid to his insurance whilst telling them how the other guy was/is at fault.
Also got to bear in mind that the car is visible 3 seconds before impact - so why didn't the driver take evasive action? Maybe he was speeding? The video will certainly prove or disprove that theory (as a junction was looming, why didn't he slow down?).

Yes, its one thing people might have to be careful of, the vid could do them more harm than good so to speak.

Have fun! Let us know how it goes. What FPS rate has the DVR you got have again?

Jon.

i'll let you know when i find my instruction book

the quality seems fine but i'll need to buy a card reader to put them up on the net for all to see

the camera i bought was a PH86T in the Maplin catalog However its not listed on the website which takes a 12v feed although i run it through a regulated power adaptor to protect it from start surges and the like,.

it required a bit of butchering with the Dremel to make it fit  but apart from that its fine i didn't want it to be obvious i have a camera as no doubt some scrote would break in to nick it

just need to have a basic understanding of electronics and soldering and your away as you need to common the -ative with the ground of the phono plug to make it work..

to power my DVR it uses 5Vdc i used a PSP in car addaptor which to my luck the jack fitted perfectly...
