Clarkson for Prime Minister

Clarkson for Prime Minister

I dont like Clarksons narrow minded lust for Supercars but I do like his attitude to cars and driving, and the freedom to do that so I petitioned. In all honesty, with a cabinet of "proper" politicians around him how could he get it much worse if any worse?

Go Jezza! (y)

so you dont think a PM needs to understand how an economy works, or to be familiar with politics and law, or needs to be a good negotiator, or be able to ignore personal bias and make decisions based on what is best for the country rather than the individual? JC couldnt do any of that. he's an opinionated old fart journalist.

JC would definately be the wrost PM in british history, no doubt about it at all. he hasnt got the skills, education or experience required. if it was the type of job where you sent in a CV, his CV would be in the "no way in hell" pile.

Ur absolutely right Jug, maybe we need a new "Tongue in Cheeek" smilie? :D

This would show HMG how strongly the ordinary person in the street feels about the anti-car attitude of the English Government though. We are being ignored and milked dry with the cash raised funding other Government schemes. Thats another thread tho.

Besides... does anyone REALY think this sort of petition would be taken seriously by anyone, and in any stretch of their imagination, it would result in any serious chance of anyone not bred and educated in the Upper class echelons even getting a Sniff of a Westminster bench?

Nah!! :)

no petition will ever be taken seriously. they do not demonstrate public opinion, and even if they did that is not enough to dictate policy. the govt run the country how they think best, not us, once you vote for them your opinion does not matter at all (until a few weeks before the next election)

Spot on... Unfortunately! (n)

Somehow I don't think the Prime Minister's position is decided by petition. Something to do with leading a political party (or coallition) with a majority in the House of Commons?
