On a covert, not to mention undercover, security sweep today; alright then it was a fag break with a civvy jacket covering uniform, I was speaking to a colleague and the subject of modified cars came up. As part of realising he was getting old, and being a tight git, he got rid of his old Megane 225 and replaced it with a V5 Golf (left in a will to him). Not long after getting the Megane he had it re-mapped to give a (Dyno'd) 285 bhp. He told his Insurance company who told him as the power increase was less than 33% of the original power output they wouldn't load his premium. The Golf has also been re-mapped to give about 25% more power and again he informed his insurers who yet again didn't charge extra, although they did say if he hadn't
