Passplus is a 'compenticy' (sp?) or driving, so I can't see there being a time limit.

The pass plus scheme has to be undertaken within a twelve month
period of time which begins on the day that you pass
your practical driving test
.

Is there a time limit for completion of the Pass-Plus course?

Yes. You must complete the Pass-Plus course and apply for the certificate within 12 months of passing your driving test. My advice is to take the Pass-Plus course within the first month of passing - get the ball rolling, act now.

So looks like I can't do it lmao..

I notice that AF hasn't appeared very favourably in some of the posts above so I would like to add my experience to help address the balance.

This was the first time I have tried AF as I have always had a reasonable deal with my current insurer but when I approached them (SAGA, don't laugh) I was told that they don't insure Abarths.

I trawled through the elephant/opera singer/meerkat sites and got some pretty reasonable prices and then I rang AF, out of curiosity as much as anything. Cutting a long story short I got the best price with a lower excess than any of the others as well as free legal assistance. (y)

Moral: Some people might not get the best deal but it only takes 10 minutes out of your life and you could be pleasantly surprised, I certainly was.

No I didnt. The £106 quote was cheaper than any renewal I have received from you in the last 4 years. If you were able to beat it, then why offer me such an expensive renewal in the first place? I appreciate it doesnt just cover me when i'm driving, but £167 for 1500 miles of driving is just ridiculous- that works out at 11p per mile!

Also, as I said, the £30 fee you introduced since my last renewal was a deal breaker for me.

Morning

We are only able to offer what the insurers offer us, as we are the intermediary, if you then get a cheaper quote and approach us with the details, we then contact the insurers with the details to see if they can budge on their rate at all, and this is down to the insurers if they are prepared to do this, but we can not try and do anything with our rate if you do not contact us with the details.

With regards to our fee, all brokers/intermediaries make admin charges.

Hi well like the above people, I did a quote online with AF and got £1151, turns out that was TPF&T, then found out that it would cost me £2100 fully comp with 1 years NCB at aged 20 and my first year driving at 19 with 0 NCB cost me £1600 fully comp.

Just did a quote with Admiral, they offer me £821 for fully comp...so thats £1279 cheaper than AF on fully comp and £330 cheaper than AF on TPF&T... -.- what the hell's going off there?

Think I'll be going with admiral, unless you can tell me the website is wrong and you can beat Admirals quote of £821 FC..

Luke

P.S I have no passplus nor do i have any points on my license.. also this is all on a 1.2 punto 3dr 8v..w reg. Oh yea also this £821 is on a 10 month bonus fast track thing too, £960 for full 12 month.

Hi Luke,

To be honest, if that's what you have been quoted i would take it!!, by all means if you would like for me to get someone to call you and check over the quote details feel free to pm me your details, full name , postcode and contact telephone number.

Hi Dan, No I'll pass on insurance with AF this time but when the 10 month is up I'll be 21 with 2 years NCB so never know, AF might have a good offer then so I'll keep AF in mind.
P.S I actually got the insurance for £711 in the end :slayer:

I got a sweet deal with you guys on Friday :)

Fiat Insurance previously insured me for £1200 last year and the renewal came back at £3,400 for this year :O I'll explain why in a min...

My dad rang Adrian Flux as he is also insured there and gave them my details and I got a quote come in at around £950 including breakdown cover :D I obviously took this as it even came in at a better price than confused.com (came up at £1080)

The reason why it was so high originally was because a month after I bought my car... A woman reversed into me in Tesco carpark. All her fault and admitted full liability. Her insurance provider sorted everything out and I didnt need to pay anything (besides a deposit for a hire car whilst it was repaired)
Somehow, Fiat had me marked down as 'at fault' for this and this is why the renewal came out so high... Even after looking at the case files and rectifying this issue, the quote came back in at £1600 for the year... a £400 increase! Shocking.

Adrian Flux ftw! (y)

What counts as a mod?
My current insurer considers body coloured bumpers as a mod(n)
