Hi all
I have been looking to get an amp to drive the speakers in my car as it sounds great at low volumes buts runs out of puff quite quickly.
I am currently running a Sony MEX BT3800U Headunit with 2x Edge ED204 10cm 3 way coaxials in the front and 2x Vibe 69.3 3 way 6x9's in the boot in enclosures.
Now as i said this sounds ace at low - medium volumes but runs out when i really try to crank it up such as when i am driving with windows open in this damned heat
I was originally after a 4 channel amp and the 3 i was looking at are
Edge ED7800 £89.99
Fli 900s £89.99
Vibe Slick A1 £112
I was mostly intersted in the Vibe as it looks quite rugged and appears to have good reviews.
HOWEVER
Upon having a look around at amps i have stumbled upon this ebay listing which has thrown a spanner in the works as it looks like a bloomin bargain

A brand new FLI 450s 2 channel amp for £38 delivered, now i was thinking get 2 of these (1 under each front seat) and use one to drive the fronts and one to drive the rears.
The reason i was looking at a 4 channel amp rather than a 2 channel was so i could set up crossovers and have all the Bass going to the 6x9's in the boot and very little Bass heading to the tiny edges in the front so i can hopefully get serious volume without much distortion.
Now the question is am i better paying a bit more and getting a 4 channel amp, or will the 2 cheaper 2 channels be adequate. Or even better could i get away with just amping up the 6x9's and leaving the fronts running off the head unit therefore only requiring 1 of the 2 channel amps.
I mean if i want to send bass only to the 6x9's the Headunit has a single subwoofer out RCA which can be split and feed the both channels of the amp and then i can use the internal high pass filter to filter the bass to the front speakers, but this idea may sound crap so thats why i am asking someone with a bit of ICE experience as i am new to all of this.
I am looking forward to hearing suggestions, the cheaper the better really as i am on a budget.
Thanks in advance for any replies
