fantastic, cheers dude, if theres any costs ill pay them
is it the harness for the m2atx that youve lost, the slender white blocks? well i will talk to a few computer shops and see if i can get any if you cant find them. it didnt come with any instructions did it  lol

well it shouldnt really be a bother creating another harness, ive a spare here if you want one in return? i was going to run another live from the battery with an inline fuse, splice the ignition, its from the barrell itself plus its only acting as a switch so splitting power should be fine and earth the extra harness. head unit wont need illumination and feeds like that leaving existing loom untouched for the carputer

i know there has been others trying to do this, but i havent heard of any complete as yet. i take it you bought bozzys equipment then? ive a 12v supply in the house now so going to try and get everything together and working before an installation which could be a good while away yet lol

Yeah it takes a while. I do have another ISO harness in the big baggy of wires i have just been a bit 2 lazy to figure everything out as i am also in the process of completely rebuilding the boot so i can fit the second battery and the computer in there. Going to pretty much hide everything apart from one amp if i can build the sub into the floor but im not sure if i can get a box with at least 6ft3 in the spare wheel bay and sitting as high as i can build the false floor without going over the boot lip.

Yes it is the Harness to those blocks and the instructions a readily available on the internet. Ill have a quick look.
Yep found it

If you do use a Hu it would be quite good to have illumination as you will need to set certain volumes switch it to Aux etc.

well im minus the face of the stereo so i planned on setting it once and having it switching on automatically to aux in and then just letting it amp sound and run it to amp. i would ideally like a sound processor as i have the room for it but we will see how that goes.

you putting your in the boot? i was going to remove upper glovebox and make it flush with car pc at the bottom and two din slots above and have a small vent run to it to cool the whole thing down.

you doing the false floor method? i have someone that is going to teach me fibreglassing, just going to do a flush installation to the side i think. havent decided yet. i would love it in the spare wheel well but dont like the idea of running around without one

if you cant find the harness dont worry about it, i will try and obtain one or improvise. thats exactly what i was looking the instruction for, the see what pins do what and where the inputs/outputs were

wassup ???

You havent got the harness!! Ive still got it lol. I remember i forgot to put it in the big box of wires that i sent. After reading this thread i went hunting for it, and it is in my my kitchen draw. so I will post it on to either one of you? obviously if you sell the M2-Atx that is Stu. Let me know via email who to send it to, and I'll pop it in the post. Obviously i will pay for P+P!

Nice one i wont be selling it as you gave it too me so it only seems fair to send it on to somebody who needs it. My comp already has one as i found out when i took it apart. I havnt been working on the project for a little while so you may be able to confirm that the wires that attach to it are simply connected to the standard Din one's and i presume that is what the extended HU harness was for on your computer.

SWEET! :D thank you both of ya's. the process of getting all parts is truely starting

*laptop - ready and working, just need to install m2 atx and possibly create custom enclosure
*2 H/U's waiting, watever one i fancy ill put it in
*two alpine type r 10" subs
*two alpine mrd-m500 amps

in the process of choosing replacement components, when i get a set ill get the amp to suit. cant decide whether to install one or two subs, what yous think? would still like some sort of useable boot

did you work out cost stu? ill send you a pm with the adres 2 yous, dont wana advertise it lol. again cheers, if theres anything ya's need let me know

Hi Guys,

I think that I can help a bit here. If you'e looking for a good solution you sould try new intel Atom based mboards. 1.6Ghz low power solution at aout £50. I recommend 2Gb Ram and if you can afford it go for SSD Disk (32Gb can be ound for around £100. This will make your car pc faster and also due to the lack of moving parts it's more suitable for the car environment. All your media can be stored on external USB drive of any size. This also makes it easier to update and manage content. You can power that solution with PicoPSU ( just run search o google or ebay). I recomend the multivoltage one and 120-150W to be on the safe side. Sound... I would run long usb cable from the place where your PC is sitting to the dash. If you need more USB ports on the front; just get a hub. I wouldn't use build in sound due to long run of cable you'll have and possible interferrence, so USB soundcard just behind the head unit will be more suitable. Also, USB Bluetooth adapter is a good option (I have BlueNEXT) from ebay £5 that supports audio streaming and headset profile (think of streaming audio from your mobile and using car sound system for hands free calling). There is quite a lot of OS's to chose, but i would go with Windows XP. Just get installation disk and strip everything you don't need (here is a good guide: http://lifehacker.com/software/how-to/create-a-custom-windows-xp-installation-disc-286125.php). Install your desired UI software and...
that's about it. You can also get 3G or WiFi network in the car if you want to. I had a look at the car PC front end and the Centerfuse looks the best with integrated GPS navigation and phone support.
Any questions... just give me a shout and I'll try to help.
In the mean time... does anyone have information about aux input on 500 with blu&me and interscope?

Bart

I dont know about the 500 but what external sound card did you use i have had a look on ebay but i dont know a lot about computers and dont really know which would be sufficicient to use as they range from about £5-£300

Head Unit:confused: I wont have one of them i will be connecting a Line Driver to the soundcard (using 3.5mm - RCA adaptor) to split and amplify the signal to the amps.
I think i will just use the standard soundcard until i can afford a proper soundcard around the £150 mark.
