Hi - any thoughts on this anyone?.....
Picked up my new GP 1.4 16V Sporting yesterday and noticed about 18 miles on the odometer when I left the garage. I filled up with petrol when I got to my home town (about 15 miles away from garage). I always reset my trip computer to 0 out of habit and now I cannot get my GP's total mileage back up on the odometer. It is just showing me the mileage I did since I last reset the trip at the petrol station. I have reset it several times now and it is still showing me the mileage from the petrol station to home.

My previous car's trip computer (Punto 2.5) was much easier and reading the GP's manual cannot fathom out what I have done! Going through the menu too it is showing me how many miles left until a service is required, which is 18k miles, minus the miles since I last filled up. This cannot be the number of miles I have done in the cars life so far as it is less that the number of miles from the showroom to my house! Surely it wasn't set on negative numbers????

Hope someone can shed some light on this. I am not very car technical :)

I tell you what T14086 - I've got the same problem too.....I've read the manual several times and for the life of me I cannot work out how to do it......it's obviously something to do with "Trip B".....I've activated it in the computer but can't seem to access it on the display now...so this afternoon I filled up with gas and ended up writing my current mileage, 57, down on a petrol receipt.....oh I'm getting soooo old!

Try to push the button once. It should go from trip to current mileage.

That's what I thought but it didn't. I've pushed so many buttons now LMAO!!! Thanks...

Glad I'm not the only one. When I work it out, I will be sure to post a reply.

I may be way off here (as i don't own a GP :) ) but doesn't the Sport have the "big" multifunction display (the one which includes outdoor temp.)?

If so, isn't the total milage always displayed (like on the Stilo)?

I have pressed many buttons whilst fiddling about with the trip etc, but the total mileage reading is always displayed no matter whether the reading above it is showing which radio setting i am on, trip/fuel reading etc

Maybe its something you guys have pressed in the settings menu using the buttons to the right of the steering wheel and need to have a look through this menu to sort it out?

Just a suggestion though :)

Yes it is always displayed but my mileage is showing the miles i did since the last reset. I must have done about 40 miles by now (plus the mileage before delivery) but my odometer is showing way below that.

Thanks - been there and done that too. I am sure it's something really simple........!!

You cant reset the figure indicated below the radio info. This is the total milage traveled. If you want a trip distance you need to use the trip computer using the "Distance travelled A" or B function. The trip computer seems complicated at first but is easy to use when you fully understand it. Perhaps you could go back to the dealer and get someone to explain how it works to you.

OK Pekora, I think I've got it.....!
We've got to 'turn-on' our Trip B on the display - so you gotta press the 'menu' button - highlight "Trip B" and turn it to "ON"......ok?

Then.....keep pressing the end of the right hand stork/lever - all the different permutations flick round like instant fuel consumption readout, distance travelled, average fuel consumption etc.
Sooooo keep pressing the stalk button until you get to "Trip B", then push and HOLD the button in for about 3 seconds until it shows 0000 and you're done.
Total mileage is always constantly displayed left hand side on the speedo display.
Hope it's what you want.....

I've done all that before and have reset it several times so that A and B are all Zero. I am going to accept that the constant reading where the temperature reading is my total mileage.

My initial concern was that I am pretty ademant that when I filled the car up with petrol and I reset the trip comp, it read zero on the main display. When I got home it was 3 miles.....yet, I had already travelled about 15 miles previous to that to get from the show room to the petrol station, plus the small mileage upon pick up of the new car. I'm not going to bother anymore. I'll just carry on enjoying the new car :) Thanks for your comment.
