I don't know if this helps anyone, as i've only just found this thread but 6 months ago I had all 4 of my MJet polished wheels changed under warranty with the same issue as Bob the OP.

My rear passenger side wheel should be being replaced, valeter noticed it when i was in for a service app. It hasnt peeled around the nut holes though, instead of one of the 'blades' itself.

Fiat are refurbing mine in anthracite again next week. The corrosion just comes thorugh on a crap job like they have done.

if I was paying I'd get them powder coated by a specialist place.
