Hi, I'm waiting to get my new Grande Punto Dynamic in New Orleans Blue this week. Was thinking it would be quite nice to fit fog lights at some stage but can't afford to right now. Is this a big hassle? What would be involved in getting a button installed inside the car to switch them on/off? Also what cost do you think?

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers

Don't quote me on any of this, but....

...it shouldn't be a problem, the switch would have a blank fitted in its place at the moment, same as the light units themselves. But they would cost a fortune from the parts counter in the Fiat dealer.

You can wire them direct, or splice them into the loom - the loom should have the sockets for the fog lamps as it's easier/cheaper to make a standard loom nowadays that can be added to.

Surely if you could afford to buy a new GP you could have stretched to the extra £125 for front fog lights?

I asked my dealer if the fogs could be retrofitted to the Grande Punto and the mechanics told me that although it would be easy to fit the switch panel on the dash the complexity of the wiring looms inside the car mean it would be impossible to actually wire the lights up. Also, you would need a brand new bumper unit, so best to get them factory fitted...

I'm sure you could get around this, but it sounds like a very expensive specialist job and probably not the standard fit items..

Thanks for your info. Should have mentioned that it's a demo car so can't have them factory fitted!! D'oh!

As long as they are easy to attach then I could just put them on for show? I mean they're illegal to use unless it's foggy anyway
