I have a major problem with my 07 reg grande, the other day i came back to my car to find the headlights where stuck on main beam, even though my keys were out of the ignition & the headlights were selected off on the stalk. this has killed my battery but every time i jump start the car, they stay for for a while then come back on when the battery seems to be recharges after about 30 mind of running, then same thing over & over again.
killing me as i am a key worker and need my car for work.
any help would be grateful, all this started after the first cold spell we had.
thanks in advance

You might have a relay stucked, either T3 or T4, depending the meaning of "main" beam, dipped or head ?
Alternatively a worn command cable from the Body Control Module touching the chassis might also activate the relay.

hi many thanks for your reply, i meant high (full beam) not dipped

hi many thanks for your reply, i meant high (full beam) not dipped

Head (full beam) light circuit is even more sensitive since its relay (T3) coil is directly positive driven from the battery, not via ignition (contact) relay T5 as the dipped beam (T4) one is.

So as suggesterd by The Old Man (is he ?), moisture/damp underneath the fuses/relays board is also a good candidate, beside stuck relay or naked wire grounding @ the chassis ...
