Re: How to disable the seatbelt's bip

I did cut the two cables of the belt buckle under the front of the seat and short-circuited them. No longer beeps and no warning light.

Pull out the two plastic bolts and remove the cover, then you can build a bypass lead at the plug or you cut and connect the two cables behind the plug. The blue and the yellow cabels are leading to the built-in switch in your belt buckle which is probably faulty.

I think that I saw some setting for this via MultiECUscan... Plus are we sure that cutting those wires doesn't affect belt pyro during crash? Plus - if you crash and insurance company (or expert) find cutted wires under seat, do they pay you someting? Use MultiECUscan for this and you are clean ;-)

Belt pre-tensionner would engage in case of crash IF the seat is occupied AND the belt is fastened, so will never fire if the system doesn't see the belt is on... Not sure about the airbags; would they all blow-out in case of crash ??

Re: How to disable the seatbelt's bip

I think that driver seat has no weight sensor like passenger seat, so thecsystem for driver seat is beeping only if belt isn't fastened. If its not, then pre-tensioner system will not work...and airbag is questionable. I dont know if wires on picture are only for beeping

Re: How to disable the seatbelt's bip

Driver wheel airbag is unlikely to work in a crash if the seatbelt is t plugged in as then can be quite dangerous without a.belt

Re: How to disable the seatbelt's bip

Mine also started to beep just all the time, even with all seatbelts firmly connected. So I disabled the beep. The warning light still pops up, but isn't important in the inspection (no fail for it).

I used AlfaOBD for Android to disable it. You'll need to connect to the OBD with a dongle and as far as I remember, it requires the yellow adapter. Then you connect to the dongle through AlfaOBD, and then you browse in the menu. It was somewhere near the bottom of the "Dashboard" menu. Just a clear text like "Disable seatbelt warning tone" (or something like that). Press it and it will make no more sound, ever. Even after changing the car battery.

The actual issue is probably a poor electrical connection somewhere in the seatbelt connector, though I didn't find any obvious things when I checked the wiring before disabling the beeper. All wires were connected, no broken/gashed wires, no burnt fuses, and nothing obviously wrong. I didn't mess around more, as the airbag wires go with it, so there is a danger of setting off the airbags while messing around.
