I tried to fit an aftermarket Pioneer stereo to my 2008 Grande Punto, without doing much research beforehand. After getting no power, I looked on here and read about the whole canbus system. I decided to put the OEM stereo back in, but I’m now getting a ‘CANCHECK’ message and nothing else. My questions are now:
1. Whats the best way of actually fitting and getting power to the aftermarket stereo
2. or alternatively, how to get rid of the cancheck message so the OEM stereo is usable.

You just need to disconnect the can lines from the ISO connector for the radio. The wiring pattern is usually on the top of the old radio.

Then you can get a switched live from the cig lighter socket.

Ah right thanks, that seems to be the cheapest option.

I’ve seen around that you can buy wiring harnesses that come with the CAN stuff already on there, wasn’t sure if that would work as well.
