Hi there (who?) and welcome on board.

There is no such valve described in eLearn, where did you get that from ?
What is your problem ?

Hi everyone,

I also cannot locate it on my Punto Evo Mjet 75 CV from 2011. I was searching and searching but no luck

However, it should be there according to https://eper.fiatforum.com/en/Drawings/Detail/F/F/FPUN/3J/103/1/30/2/Group?MVS=19925D301000

Fiat PN - 55185372
My engine code - 199A9000 (1.3 Mjet 75CV)

The problem that I have is related to the smell from exhaust (it smells like an old diesel Bus when you go behind)
Especially, when the car is cold and especially in winter time. It is pretty strong smell on burned diesel. During the summer the situation is better. Also when the engine reach working temperature it is better

There is no blue, white or black smoke from exhaust. Generally the car goes well and smooth. RPM are constant, no check engine is to be seen on dashboard.

As I am struggling with this for a quite some time I read somewhere that this small valve should be regularly checked and that it can cause a lot of problems if it stays in opened or closed position. One of the described problems is bad burning of fuel which can lead further to smell.
I was thinking to replace it as it is not an expensive but as I wrote I cannot locate it

Any help is appreciated

Hi there,
This ”canister” is located between the engine and cabin’s firewall.
In some cars it can be seen from top, but most likely it’s easier to locate if you are under the car.

I am new to forum. Is it possible to upload a short video? If not, you can dm me you number and I will provide a whatsapp video.

Beside the smell, what problems do you have from this valve and how do you know valve is the problem?

Hi and thanks for answering.

I manage to replace it but I do not see any improvement. The "canister" is not a valve as I thought. It has just an oil separator nothing more than that. It does not have valve that can opens or closes.

It is just a smell. There is no smoke any color from the exhaust, the the engine is idling normal, the engine has enough power, there is no oil consumption.... The smell is specially strong when the motor is cold and when the outside temp is below 5 C. During the summer the smell is there but it not that strong.

At the end it maybe normal....

My car has very similar sympthoms. But in my case engine has true 283.000 km.
So piston rings are worn and it has some minor oil consumption in short drives. And in highway use it consumes considerably more oil. Smell is present as you described.
So my guess is: either smell is coming from constantly burning oil or there is vacuum interruption somewhere in the air system and ecu is compensating by adding more fuel.

Also EGR valve was seized in my engine. And after cleaning it was operating with ease. And smell deffinitivly improved, but still present a little bit.

If you decide to clean EGR, arm yourself with patience, because it is located in a ****ed up position. Pardon my language!

My engine is on 170.000. I just changed oil and it really does not consume it. I usually change oil every 10.000 (selenia always) as I want to have peace of mind. As I complained in service about this smell they initiated Regeneration over ECU. The first impression is that is better but it yet again it is 14 C and the engine is warm.
I will follow it for some time and check.

Regarding EGR I did not cleaned it. Maybe it is next thing to check but yes the position is......
